On their way
out of Miles City on their fourth day, they passed a city park where
Pirsig remembered having slept one night on his way to Bozeman. Then
they followed the Yellowstone Valley across Montana. At
Laurel
in sight of the mountains, they stopped for the night. Coming down off the
snow, the evening breeze was cool. They felt the presence of the mountains
and Pirsig felt happy but a little sad too. "Sometimes it’s a little
better to travel than to arrive."
